Bookings

We've made it super easy for you to make a booking.
To plan your journey:
1. Log into your mymegabus account.
2. Select your starting point and destination, and pick your travel dates. If you’re traveling after midnight, double-check that you’ve chosen the right date.
3. Enter the number of travellers and let us know if anyone in your group has an NUS Extra or Scottish Concessionary Travellers card. Everyone traveling together should have the same reservation number.
4. If wheelchair space is required, you will reserve the space here. Likewise, if additional luggage space is required, you will reserve the space here.
5. Click “Find Journeys” to see a list of available journeys. Click on "more info" for more details.
6. Choose your preferred journey time from the list and click “Continue”.
7. You can either continue shopping and add more journeys to your basket, or proceed to checkout.
8. Review your basket and remove any unwanted trips before paying.
9. Agree to the terms and conditions and click “Proceed to Checkout” to complete your booking using our secure online payment processor, WorldPay.
10. Your seats will be held for 20 minutes, so make sure to complete your booking within that time. Once your payment is received, we’ll send you two emails: one from WorldPay letting you know your payment was received, and one with your booking confirmation. Keep the confirmation handy for your journey as this email contains your ticket.

Scottish National Entitlement Cardholders who are elderly or disabled, as well as their companions, are eligible for free travel on megabus for journeys made entirely in Scotland. It’s important to note that Scottish Concessionary Entitlement Cards are only valid in Scotland and not outside of the country.

The fee to book a ticket on megabus is currently £1.50, which is applied only once per transaction. You can book multiple journeys at once. Booking through third-party and agent websites will incur higher fees, so booking directly with us is the best choice.

We know plans can change. So if you want to make any changes to your bookings, you can do this up to 24 hours before you’re due to travel.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Log into your mymegabus account
2. Go to 'My Active Tickets'
3. Select the booking you’d like to change and click Change selected tickets
4. Follow the instructions to change your booking

Multiple traveller bookings

If your booking is for 2 or more people, any changes you make will cancel the original booking for all travellers.
So please remember to include the new journey details for all travellers when making your changes, even those that still want to travel on the same journey as originally booked.
Top tip - instead of changing the entire booking for all travellers, it may actually be cheaper if you only book a new trip for the people who need to travel at a different date or time.

What will it cost?

It costs £3.75 to change a booking online (£2.25 amendment fee and £1.50 re-booking fee). Changes made with an authorised megabus agency will cost £5.35 (£3.85 amendment fee and £1.50 re-booking fee).
If your new journey is more expensive than the original one, you’ll also need to pay the difference between the two fares.
Unfortunately, we can’t give you a refund or credit if the new journey has gone down in price. Any credit not used prior to checkout will be lost

Don't have a mymegabus account?

If tickets were purchased without logging into your mymegabus account, our friendly customer service is available to offer assistance.

The fee for changing online bookings is £2.25, while at a megabus agency, it's £3.85. Additionally, a £1.50 fee will apply to each changed transaction.

At megabus, you don't need to worry about printed tickets since we offer a ticketless service. Once your payment is confirmed, you will receive a booking confirmation page and either an email or text message, both of which include your megabus booking number(s). We advise you to keep these details with you while travelling, either as a printout or on your phone.

You can purchase a ticket directly from the driver on internal Scottish services, as long as there are seats available. Alternatively, you can buy a ticket from our self-service ticket machines at London Victoria Coach Station, Manchester Shudehill Interchange, and Coventry Pool Meadow Bus Station. You can also buy a ticket on the day from our friendly megabus customer service advisors.

Just a friendly reminder to ensure that we have your correct email address when you book your trip with us. We always send a confirmation email shortly after your booking is complete. In case you don't receive it within an hour, please drop us a quick message at enquiries@megabus.com, and we'll help you out right away! Our team loves to assist our customers, but our inbox can get pretty busy. So, the earlier you contact us, the quicker we can get your ticket to you.

Make sure to have your booking number on hand when you travel. The booking number includes the date and time of your journey, and can be found on your booking confirmation email or text message. It's important to keep a record of your booking number(s) for easy reference on the day of travel. We suggest either printing a copy or keeping it on your phone.

You can select to receive your ticket and reservation number via text message at checkout. Please note, there will be an additional cost of £1.00 for this delivery method.

We welcome all customers on megabus services and do our best to assist those with walking difficulties or those who use a wheelchair.

If you normally use a wheelchair, we recommend that you book your coach travel online - this will provide you with the most up-to-date booking experience. If you need further information before you book your coach journey, please contact us either by calling or dropping us an email. We’re always happy to help!

All our coaches are wheelchair accessible and we can safely carry one seated wheelchair user subject to size and weight limits (with max weight 300kg, dimensions length 1200mm x width 700mm x height 1350mm including the seated passenger).

If you use a wheelchair (max weight 20kg) or mobility scooter and are able to climb the few steps into the coach, we’ll store your mobility device in the luggage bay and the driver will help you into your seat.

We’ll accept lightweight mobility scooters for storage and carriage in the coach luggage hold. The mobility scooter must break down into separate parts each weighing no more than 20kg. You or your companion must be able to dismantle and reassemble the mobility scooter for carriage in our luggage hold.

We’re sorry but we’re unable to carry customers seated in mobility scooters.

Passengers departing from Victoria Coach Station in London may use the Mobility Lounge before departure. To pre-book, please call +44 (0) 207 0272520*. Assistance to departing coaches is available if you need it.

Passengers with walking difficulties should speak with the driver of the coach to help identify accessible seating.

Our fares offer excellent value for money. Booking early could provide even better savings. Please note, fares may change depending on your booking date, day of travel and demand for seats, and can change without prior notice. To cover administration costs, we charge a booking fee per credit or debit card transaction. Please be aware that prices may fluctuate during peak booking periods, so it's worth keeping this in mind when planning your trip.

Bookings can usually be made a number of weeks or months in advance depending on the time of year and service you're looking to travel on.

This may happen for a couple of reasons. If the journey can be selected from the departure/origin points but there are no available dates - it might be that the journey has sold out. If the departure/origin points don’t appear, it may be that we don’t currently offer a service on the route you’re looking for. We’re always looking at adding new places to our network though, so make sure you check back to see if any new places have been added to the map.

We travel to loads of towns and cities across the UK. Just head to our route guides page to see where your next trip will take you.
